A new girl and her mother appeared at my knitting group with a red poncho. Someone had left it at a child’s birthday party, the mother said, and was I able to help her daughter figure out the pattern. The girl spoke little English. We drew schematics, and although I speak no Italian, it quickly became clear that we could communicate in the language of knits and purls. She wanted to make a poncho and I could write a pattern. This “beautiful red poncho” was the result.
In lots of sizes with simple construction, the advanced beginner familiar with cables will enjoy making this fun-to-wear, all-weather poncho.
This is a unisex hoodie, but I created it with young boys in mind. It knits up beautifully in worsted yarns - washable ones that make it easy care. This is the type of knitting I love, because other than minding the cables, I can talk and knit at the same time!
What's cuter on a baby than a romper? Whether for sleep or play, this will be your baby's favorite! Little cables adorn the cuffs, and who can resist stripes? Even if you are a beginner, you'll be able to master this soft cotton outfit.
